Rena

Hello, I’m Rena, I’m a Psychotherapist based in East London working with clients across the globe. I started my counselling journey training in Islamic Counselling with Abdullah Maynard Association and then later qualified with Sakoon Counselling Services using the integrative modality which includes psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, so my toolkit is vast with the ability to use a range of modalities adapted to individual client needs. I am a BACP registered therapist.
At the core of my practice is empathy and congruence. I work by engaging with my clients through deep exploration, working on their agenda and at their pace. We review progress and ensure opportunities are provided for feedback. Ultimately the aim is for my clients to leave counselling achieving their goals with raised self-awareness and confidence to be their authentic self.
It is important for me as a Therapeutic Counsellor to provide a safe, contained space for my clients to explore their issues, provide reflection to enable them to get clarity and give positive unconditional regard to allow growth and acceptance of their true self.
As I facilitate my clients through their personal journey I bear witness to their resilience, to their healing and to their courage keeping the beauty of Islam and Islamic principles as the foundation to our work.
To me counselling is an Amanah and a blessing from Allah to work in service for his creation and I see every client as a gift, to hold a safe space for, to listen without judgement, to provide unconditional positive regard with empathy and congruence.
My experience – I have worked with Sakoon for over 2 years now with a wide range of clients with diverse needs. Before this I have worked with Nafsiyat which is an intercultural therapy centre focusing on working with the South Asian community especially women with intergenerational trauma. In another organisation my work involved focusing mainly on students and the struggles faced in young adult life as well as the educational pressure. I have also worked in a school setting with Place2Be with young children below 16 through art and play as well as talking therapy. Alongside my qualification as a Psychotherapist, I have over 20 years’ experience in the corporate and charity sector within various leadership roles providing mentoring, coaching, empowering & enabling individuals to be their best selves.
How I can help – I offer integrative counselling and psychotherapy for individuals in a safe and confidential space without judgement. I work with couples and individuals navigating relationship difficulties, marital issues, complex post-traumatic stress, general depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, self-harm, childhood abuse & neglect, anger management, grief & loss. I work with gender-based violence survivors re building after their loss of power.
My own ethnic background gives me heightened awareness and I embrace people in all their diversity. I am passionate and highly motivated about working with people of all cultures, spirituality, religion and gender in the provision of mental health services.

Nisa

Hello, I’m Nisa, a BACP-registered psychotherapist based in London. I offer integrative counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples, creating a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore, heal, and grow at their own pace.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to deep, collaborative exploration—checking in regularly and working together to support each client in becoming their authentic self. I bring a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach, shaped by my own diverse background and a strong passion for working with people of all identities, cultures, spiritualities, and genders.
I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of life challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, bereavement, domestic abuse and violence, relational difficulties, and anger issues. In addition to working with adults, I’ve also supported children through my work with counselling agencies such as ICounselling, Nour, and Place2Be.
My background in education, with over 20 years as a teacher in London, gives me unique insight into the emotional and psychological pressures that can impact individuals across different life stages.
As an integrative therapist, I draw from various therapeutic models to tailor the approach to each client. My aim is to foster self-acceptance, emotional wellbeing, and lasting change through presence, empathy, and respect. My role is to walk alongside you, offering a supportive space and genuine presence as you face what needs to be faced—even the parts of ourselves we may not yet fully know. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, seeking clarity, or looking to reconnect with your true self, therapy can be a powerful step forward and I look forward to welcoming you.
